It was also the first time in the conference history that there were non-Chinese participations, it is a reflection of the recognition of our organization by the international communities. The conference (May 29 - June 1, 2006) was conducted in Hong Kong for the first two days,, and after the morning Technical Tour of the World’s first Walt Disney Railway on Day 3, it was transferred to Macau for the reminder time. As both cities are very energetic in nature, our conference was also packed with actions that kept all participants very busy. The conference also drawn considerable attention in Macau, where the Secretary of Transport and Public Works had participated in our opening ceremony and the event was reported in the evening TV news. From all the feedbacks received, the conference was a successful and memorable one because of all the great people, world-class facilities, excellent technical sessions, great foods and of course multimodal in nature (air, bus, rail, hydrofoil and walk). Most important of all, the conference had enabled ICTPA to establish a professional relationship with the Macau Institution of Engineers (MIE), which should be valuable in the future. |
