A Celebration of a Texan ICTPA in Houston

ICTPA-TX Chapter was established on Oct 23, 2008. Since then, the committee has
dedicated to promote professional development for its members, supported and
encouraged technical and cultural exchange, and to serve as an institute of professional
information in transportation, planning and engineering field.

During the recent year, we held several workshops, technical panel discussions, and an
annual party. For example, we invited Houston-Galveston Area Council experts to discuss
topics such as “Livable Centers in the Greater Houston Region”. Also, we hosted an annual
party and a Texas Hold’em Tournament for our ICTPA members at the beginning of 2011.
The ICTPA Texas Chapter also held a technical program on Tuesday August 23, 2011. Mr.
John Kuo, Assistant Director of Department of Public Works in City of Houston, talked about
"Implementation of CIP to REBUILD HOUSTON-From Street and Traffic Perspective".
Another member gathering is planned in Fall. We will also get more Chinese community
involved by hosting or co-hosting events/parties with other professional associations.

Through the efforts, our young Texas Chapter has demonstrated growth and we aim to
continue in the future. Currently, there are 64 registered/non-registered members in Texas
Chapter.
